If you’re looking for a few games you can play on the weekend with a cup of tea, then here are our recommendations.

Coffee Talk Series

The Coffee Talk series is a visual novel-style game where you brew coffee and listen to stories. That’s it, no fancy gameplay, no dramatic stakes, just fantasy characters in a world drinking coffee.

The story is dictated by your actions, giving the “wrong” order can lead to “bad” outcomes, but overall the vibe is quite relaxed and chill.

You’ll learn more about customers, their lives, watch and listen as they interact with others set to smooth, chill lo-fi music and rain in the background. The art style is warm and comforting, matching the characters’ personalities well.

There’s a simple beauty to the series of watching, listening and feeling at ease as you learn about your customers’ lives, their perspectives, personalities, hopes and fears as they rant and rave to you, the humble barista.

The Coffee Talk series is best left to be enjoyed first-hand; its relaxed atmosphere can always bring you back for a refill.

Coloring Game Series

This one’s more straightforward, it’s a colouring game. It offers a unique array of pictures to be coloured in and is perfect to draw and fill in while you listen to a podcast.

Created by L. Stotch, the collection of colouring games is a great way to unwind and shut your brain off for an hour, while also feeling fulfilled at how quickly the images change from a blank canvas to a colourful sprite image.

The best part? They’re all free. Each base game in the series is free, typically containing between 30-40 free images each to be coloured in. You’re able to purchase additional, more complex and creative sets as paid DLC.

We won’t show any of the art here, but after you put on some chill beats and get to colouring, you’ll have an entire gallery of pixelated creations to browse.

Galaxy Burger

Want to run your own interdimensional burger joint? Then Galaxy Burger is my next recommendation.

A cozy management game, you’ll be taking orders, building burgers, serving drinks and frying food to keep your customers happy.

With no time limits and minimal consequences for mistake, you’re free to take as long as you need on the more complex orders.

Orders can start becoming more complicated as you progress through the worlds. Not to worry, because you’re not alone!

Galaxy Burger lets you play online co-op with up to 8 other people!

There’s a wide galaxy of burgers to be served at, which becomes increasingly more complex are you progress through each universe. Between building burgers with specific requirements, following recipes, managing drinks and fried food this requires a bit more of a hands-on approach than the other recommendations.

So if this interests you, grab your friends and some snacks! Galaxy Burger is $17.75 (AUD) on Steam.
