Hello Kitty Island Adventure is no longer just on Apple Arcade!

Sanrio and cozy game fans alike were excited for the 30th January launch of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, even though the game had technically been out for 2 years as an Apple exclusive! Hello Kitty Island Adventure has officially expanded its reach by releasing on PC and Nintendo Switch, with Playstation coming soon.
Reviews in the first week of February have been mixed. Some players are loving it for its cute style, simple gameplay and chance to interact with fan favourite characters, while others have found the game mechanics repetitive and needing more commitment than first realised, as new quests often involve improving character relationships. Some reviewers have even said that Hello Kitty Island Adventure was better off as a mobile game.
Nostalgic for The Sims and The Sims 2? Well, you’re in luck!

As part of The Sim’s 25th birthday, The Sims and The Sims 2 are back with the Legacy Collection! With this re-release, EA promises the chaos we remember and love, now playable on our modern PCs.
The Sims and The Sims 2 are available to purchase individually or as a bundle, and includes almost all of the expansion and stuff packs (sorry IKEA stuff fans, this one is likely a licencing issue) from the original games in one easy purchase. The Sims is currently priced at $29.95 (AUD), The Sims 2 at $49.95, or you can save yourself $19.95 by purchasing the Birthday Bundle for a total of $59.95.
The long-awaited sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance is here!

If you’re a fan of historical games like I am, then you’ve probably been counting down the days until the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Well, the wait is over! The sequel officially launched on February 4, 2025!
Set once again in 15th-century Bohemia, The tomfoolery continues in the Kingdom. After his adventures in the first installment, Henry is traveling with the nobleman Hans Capon, who was sent on a diplomatic mission.
Do you need to play the first game?
Getting started with the story of Kingdom Come 2 should work without any problems, even if you haven’t played the predecessor. However, I highly recommend playing the first game if you haven’t already. It will give you a deeper appreciation of the characters that reappear and also give you some insight about the story and dynamics before the sequel.
Our top picks from the Steam Idler Fest

Idle and incremental games are always something I look forward to solely because my TikTok-riddled brain needs multiple sources of stimulation at once. Which is why I’ve been playing various games at once — below are some recent purchases from Steam’s Idler Fest:
Refarm

Refarm is a neat game about planting crops, selling them, buying better crops, and repeating the cycle. For $5.95 (AUD), you’ll get some appealing pixel graphics, a peaceful atmosphere of waves crashing against the dirt, and something casual to have in the background while doing other things.
Some better gameplay loops and quality-of-life features to improve its ‘idle-ness’, such as automation features, collecting crops without individually clicking each one, and some way to upgrade things (yes, I’m comparing this to Rusty’s Retirement) would be nice. The game can be tedious if you expand a lot, as you’re constantly clicking to collect and re-plant crops manually. But, if you’re not deterred this game is a cheap, relaxing and easy-to-play experience.
Coin Flipper

If you’re looking for a more traditional, Cookie Clicker-esque idle game with automation, incremental growth and ascension then Coin Flipper is for you.
You flip coins, make money, collect upgrades and watch big numbers get bigger, ascend, then do it all over again. That’s the core gameplay for any good incremental game.
Although you’re clicking a lot initially, this involves more idling than Refarm once you get going and requires less input, meaning once you’ve got some upgrades you can set and forget it. At $4.50 (AUD), it’s a neat game to have on in the background to occasionally return to when you feel like it.
Ropuka’s Idle Island

Where Refarm is focused on manual growth management, and Coin Flipper is a traditional incremental game, Ropuka’s Idle Island is definitely the most hands-off game listed.
It’s a desktop game — you open it, the frog cuts grass, you use that grass to buy simple upgrades which you then use to buy cosmetics and that’s it. There’s no ascension, no need to micromanage anything, you just turn this game on and leave it idle. So, what’s the point?
Well, the achievements are nice, and racking up gameplay hours is cool (if you enjoy doing that), there isn’t a need for something else in Ropuka’s, plus it’s stress free. You can play it for as long or as short as you want and that’s the beautiful simplicity of idle games like this. For $5.95 (AUD), you can watch a frog cut grass and wear funny hats. Fantastic!
Ready for an RPG that will steal hundreds of hours of your life? Avowed awaits!
