Chris Hansen is Officially Investigating Children Safety on Roblox

What began as a rumour has now officially been confirmed by Chris Hansen, best known for his work on To Catch a Predator, that he and his team at TruBlu are in the midst of investigating child exploitation on Roblox. Watch his statement below, released via his social media.

This move from Chris Hansen comes just after Roblox CEO, David Baszucki, announced Roblox’s move to support online dating on its platform, despite approximately 40% of their player base being under the age of 13 and well-know YouTuber and predator catcher that works with local law enforcement, Schlep, was banned off of Roblox’s platform for “engaging in simulated child endangerment conversations,” “sharing or soliciting personally identifiable information” and “directing users to move conversations off platform.”

Diablo team seek to unionise for fear of layoffs

Development teams at Activision Blizzard, acquired by Microsoft in 2023, are feeling the pressure of more mass layoffs from Microsoft as mentioned in last month’s blog. The team behind Diablo are next to unionise, closing in behind similar unionisations from fellow Blizzard teams such as Overwatch and World of Warcraft.

Kelly Yeo, Diablo game producer, has stated the following:

“With every subsequent round of mass layoffs, I’ve witnessed the dread in my coworkers grow stronger because it feels like no amount of hard work is enough to protect us.”

“I am overjoyed that we have formed a union—this is just the first step for us joining a movement spreading across an industry that is tired of living in fear. We are ready to begin fighting for real change alongside our Diablo colleagues.”

The move to unionise will not only provide protection for staff from future layoffs, but may also offer these teams better working conditions such as the right to work remotely or limiting the use of AI on their future projects.
